Carrie Brock
At an early age, Carrie experienced the transformative power of inviting spaces, and it fueled her passion for design. Since founding The Simple Sketchbook in 2016, Carrie has overseen all design projects to ensure they are a reflection of the client while incorporating the TSS aesthetic. Carrie lives with her husband, their four children, her dog, and cats. In Carrie’s free time, she can be found scouring the latest estate sales of Nashville’s historic homes.

Julie Jones
Julie Jones jumped right into TSS projects with her AutoCAD wizardry, willingness to help, and easy-going personality. She has an impeccable eye for scale and good design. When she’s not creating amazing elevations for our team, she’s probably spending time with her husband, Blake and two daughters.

Lance Brock
Lance Brock discovered his profession at the age of 16, while reading the encyclopedia from front to back. (He never made it past the “A”s.) He continues to bring this sort of decisiveness and unwavering vision to all his work. He graduated from the College of Architecture at the University of Tennessee. He is also an owner and co-founder of Climb Nashville.

We think of you often in special detail that you suggested – the butler’s pantry – the dining room wallpaper and hidden closet – the back porch – and special thanks to Lance for suggesting the roof line changes upstairs that transformed the design of the entire floor to make it more usable. I remember when we started talking about what you could bring to the project and that it would probably be wise to make that spend. I can say that it was the best money we spent. You made our house a home!
