Back to School Dinner

18 Summers. That’s all we get as parents. My youngest daughter has 12 and my oldest son has 6 summers left before he’s off to college. This summer whizzed by faster than usual for us, but here we are – time to get the kids back to school! For the past 4 years, we have celebrated the new beginning with a Back to School dinner.

We join another family in speaking words of hope and encouragement over our young kids as we enjoy spaghetti and meatballs. And because our family runs the gamut when it comes to food restrictions, our simple spread covers a variety of dietary needs pretty quickly. The food is always good, but the memory is always better. It is such a busy time of year but I truly believe in the concept of   s l o w i n g   d o w n  and pushing pause. What about you? How do you get the school year started off on the right foot?
